A Toddler Jungle Gym for Indoors or Out
The Chestnut Indoor and Outdoor is a foldable 8-in-1 toddler jungle gym made from treated cedar, so it can live on the patio, deck or lawn in the warm months and come inside or fold away for winter. Kids climb the rock wall and ladder, cross the monkey bars, swing, slide, scramble up the rope net and hang from the gymnastics rings, all on one wooden frame, from age 2 to 8. With more than 2,000 reviews, Chestnut is one of our most-loved climbers.
Eight Ways to Play
Slide: A quick ride down after every climb.
Climbing wall and wooden ladder: Two routes up for every skill level.
Rope net: A wobbly climb for balance.
Monkey bars and gymnastics rings: Hanging and swinging for grip strength.
Swing: Indoor or backyard swinging.
An Outdoor Jungle Gym for Toddlers That Folds
Most backyard climbers stay put once they're built. Chestnut folds flat, so you can move it from the yard to the garage for winter, clear the playroom for guests or store it in the off season. The treated cedar is sealed against sun and moisture for outdoor use.
Sized for the Large Chestnut
The Large Chestnut measures 88.8 inches long, 57.3 inches wide and 58.6 inches tall, with room for preschoolers and older kids to climb. It holds up to 110 pounds per child and 500 pounds in total, and it's tested to ASTM and CPSIA standards.
Learning Through Movement
Climbing builds strength and confidence, swinging and hanging build grip and balance, and moving between activities builds coordination and body awareness. Learn more in our Complete Guide to Jungle Gyms.
Placement, Care and Add-Ons
Set Chestnut on a flat, level surface with clear space on every side, and use a play mat or soft ground cover underneath. Outdoors, store or cover it during extreme weather and reseal the cedar as needed. For indoor use only, see the indoor Chestnut. Add the Chestnut Tent Cover or the Large Chestnut Play Mat.

Reviews for the Avenlur Chestnut | Foldable Toddler Jungle Gym for Indoor or Outdoor, Cedar
Love love love! The instructions and labeling of all the pieces was fantastic and so helpful. Honestly, it was one of the easiest things to build, it just took some time. The whole assembly took about 6-7 hours to build with two people, but we divided it up into a few days. Once built, the kids (15mo, 3years) have been playing on it for hours at a time. So happy with this purchase, I wish we had bought it sooner. My only suggestion would be to package it without the styrofoam to help out the planet. For those building this - a power drill is a must! We’ll be having lots of fun with this for years to come!
We absolutely love this climbing gym! The kids enjoy it so much, and it’s a great addition to our playroom. A few of our family members and coworkers have already been asking where we got it! Highly recommend! ❤️
Absolutely love this Jungle Gym! My 13-month-old son has been obsessed with it since the day we got it, and we use it every single day!
The quality is fantastic, and it fits beautifully into our play space. We enjoy every single part of it — the swing, slide, ladders, and rings! His absolute favorites are the ladder and the rings, and he’s already pulling himself up on them!
It’s such a wonderful way to encourage physical development, coordination, strength, and confidence while having so much fun. Definitely one of our best purchases! Highly recommend!
The best 3rd birthday present for our little one. We love the design. It’s not too tall so it’s fabulous for climbing and gross motor skills, as well as hand eye coordination. But just of all is just plain fun!
What a great indoor activity climber for my kids (1yr & 4yr). We are blown away by the quality of wood, ease of building (definitely need a drill), and how good it looks. Both my kids are loving it and each have their own things they are learning to do with it. I know we will use this for years. We've already had friends over to play on it and are excited for our "winter months" when getting outside becomes a challenge.
So far so good. I bought this right before my daughter’s 4th birthday party and the kids loved it. I didn’t have the time to try and put it together beforehand so I hired someone to do it. It certainly took him awhile, at least 6 hours and he is a handyman. I’m glad I didn’t frustrate myself with it. The swing is low and did keep falling off when the kids would swing so that was annoying but overall, it has been a fun addition.
Love the product! It looks fantastic and my kids love it! Strong, sturdy and fun! I gave 4 stars rather than 5 for the time needed to construct. Close to 12 hours to put the whole thing together. There were specific call outs in the instructions but there could have been more. Specifically the distance of the sections was the hardest. Maybe pre drilled holes in the rods would help. Ultimately I would still recommend others to buy and would buy again with the heavy expectation of how long it will take to construct.

Beautiful play set! Great quality. But highly disappointed I bought the medium. My daughter is almost 6 and she definitely needs the large. The description says ages 3-8 so I thought we were safe with a medium. I even got on the chat support and they confirmed we would be good. Save yourself the trouble and get the Large so your kids have plenty of time to enjoy it

We purchased this play set for our grandchildren because of its ability to pack up and put away. The 8 activities keep them busy and having fun when that visit, but we can put it away afterward. It was challenging to assemble and instructions could be a bit clearer, but happy with the product overall.

Got this for my 3 y/o birthday, it’s been great when the weather has been rainy and/or too hot. 6 y/o brother and friends love it too! If you use a drill it only takes a few hours to assemble (with kids attempting to climb) 😂

This was a great purchase for our grandchild! It took about 9 hours to assemble but instructions were clear and all the parts were there! It is a very sturdy playset for a 2-3 year old. I don't think that it would work for a child over 8 as it would not accommodate the weight.
Our grandson loves it - especially the rock climbing wall!
